How and What We Teach
This year, our focus in Sunday Bible Study is "God is Sovereign...that means He is large and He is in charge!" Our memory verse for this year is Deuteronomy 4:39, "Know therefore today and lay it to your hearts that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath, there is no other." Every unit we will do in our Sunday Bible Study time will center around the sovereignty of God.
Children's Sunday School at Brainerd Baptist is the backbone of the Children's ministry. In the unique settings and through the engaging teaching methods, our children learn biblical concepts and how to apply them to their everyday lives. Each Sunday, we offer several different workshops. These classrooms have been redesigned into creative, media-inspired, kid-pleasing workshops that teach Bible truths. These workshops include Bible Knowledge, Story Telling, Cinema, Science Lab, Computer, Cooking, Art, Music and Movement and Games.
Units that we will be studying this year are:
- Creation (Genesis 1,2)
- The Word became Flesh (John 1)
- Calming the Seas (Mark 4, Matthew 8)
- Joseph (Genesis 37-50)
- The Calling of the Disciples (John 9)
- Thy will be done (Matthew 26)
- Paul's Conversion (Acts 9)
- The Throne in Heaven (Revelation 4)
Throughout each rotation cycle, children will be encouraged to memorize a unit memory verse. We truly believe Psalm 119:11, "I have treasured your word in my heart, that I may not sin against you." Everything we do in BBCkids is focused on scripture with the purpose of leading children to commit to follow Christ.
Moving On
When children promote from BBCkids to our Student Ministry, it is our desire that they be:
- A believer (John 3:16)
- Baptized (Acts 2:38)
- Courageous and Committed (Joshua 1:6,7)
- Full of Knowledge (Psalm 119:11)
- Imitator of Christ (Hebrews 13:7)
