What We Believe
Brainerd is a church that loves God, loves one another, and loves the nations. At the heart of everything we do are these three values. Our desire is to develop mature Christians through the Gospel of Jesus.
Because we love God, we will deliver the Word.
We are not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. All Scripture is inspired by God, living and effective, and written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (Romans 1:16, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12, John 20:31)
Because we love one another, we will disciple the Believer.
Jesus said everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. This love is expressed in obedience to King Jesus who commissioned believers with a great purpose. All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (John 13:35, John 14:15, Matthew 28:18-20)
Because we love the nations, we will deploy the church.
The gospel is too good to keep to ourselves. Jesus said God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. It is our joy to follow Christ into even the most difficult parts of the world because God is worthy of worship among every nation, tribe, people, and language. Scripture says: For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news. (John 3:16, Revelation 7:9, Romans 10:13-15)
