The Grand Story of Scripture | Teachers: Michael Dickerson & David Buckler | Wednesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 pm | BX Venue - BX Conference Room | $20

Because the Bible is comprised of 66 books written by forty (or so) human authors over thousands of years in a varety of genres - narrative, prophecy, law, poetry, apocalyptic visions, etc. - we might tend to simply read it as an assortment of stories, songs, commands, etc. But behind every individual book and every individual human author is One, Divine Author. As a result, all of those stories, songs and commands come together to tell one, beautiful, overarching grand story - what some theologians refer to as the Grand Narrative of Scripture. That Grand Narrative is centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ. Every story, song, prophecy, law code, etc. points to and finds its ultimate meaning in Him. In this 16-week class, we will unpack that Grand Narrative. In the process, we'll not only uncover the relationship between the Old Testament and the New Testament, but will also identify several key themes that will help us better read and understand every part of the Bible in light of the whole story.
